Jamie Tyrell

Born and raised in Cornwall, Jamie has an entrepreneurial mind, coupled with strong roots in the community of Cornwall, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry. Jamie attended Trent University, graduating with degrees in International Development Studies and Environment and Resource Management, focusing on community and sustainable development. Jamie started his career with the City of Cornwall, working in different roles within the Social and Housing Services Department. He also worked with the Province of Ontario, helping implement new technology and business transformation for front-line staff with the Ministry of Community and Social Services.

Jamie is an accomplished speaker and facilitator and has his own business that has taken him across Ontario and working with various municipalities on many projects. In addition to this, Jamie has utilized his understanding of government processes and provides consulting and strategies to entrepreneurs in applying for grants and funding opportunities, something he has done since 2016. Furthermore, Jamie believes strongly in innovation and collaboration and brings an entrepreneurial flair and experience in currently owning two businesses and exiting two others. With the ability to help entrepreneurs navigate and focus, Jamie is the Project Manager for the new Technology Innovation Program (TIP) with the CCFDC. Jamie is also the Account Manager, allowing him to help businesses with funding options both within the CCFDC and funding landscape.

Jamie is also involved in the AgTech sector having his start-up, a microgreens farm, and is working on a project that aims to position Eastern Ontario as an AgTech Hub.
